Kemendagri Mandates Transparency: Public Reporting On Village Fund Usage Now Obligatory
The Indonesian government is elevating transparency standards by making public disclosure of Village Fund management a non-negotiable requirement for all recipient villages.
Jakarta - The Ministry of Home Affairs has launched a major initiative to embed transparency into the very fabric of Village Fund management. The new policy mandates that every village administration must publicly disclose all stages of fund management, from planning and budgeting to implementation and evaluation. This marks a significant step towards participatory governance.
This directive transforms community members from passive recipients into active overseers of development projects in their own localities. By having open access to financial data and project plans, villagers can monitor how funds are spent and verify whether projects meet agreed-upon specifications and quality standards.
