Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir has announced that the government is considering the continuation of flight ticket discounts during the Eid al-Fitr holiday in 2025. He asserted that the 10 percent discount program for flight tickets during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period of 2024/2025 was highly successful and widely utilized by the public. "We successfully reduced flight ticket prices by 10 percent during Nataru, and today we have begun discussions for the upcoming Eid," he stated after attending a housing finance meeting at the Bank Indonesia office in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Government Prepares Transportation Incentives for Eid Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto previously revealed that the government plans to reintroduce the incentives provided during the Nataru period for the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr holidays in 2025. These incentives will include toll fee discounts as well as flight ticket discounts. To maintain the momentum of growth, the government will continue various stimuli that were implemented during Nataru," Airlangga remarked. Domestic Aviation Industry Grows by 10.3 Percent Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi has also proposed the extension of flight ticket discounts for Eid al-Fitr 2025. He noted that this policy has a positive impact on the national aviation industry. During the Nataru period of 2024/2025, domestic flights experienced a year-on-year growth of approximately 10.3 percent, with an average passenger load factor of 80 percent. "This figure is higher compared to the Nataru period of 2023/2024, which only saw a 5 percent growth (YoY)," Dudy stated following the Coordination Meeting for Eid al-Fitr 2025 preparations in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
