Lifestyle Trends 2025: Eco-Friendly Products Will Be More Favored By Society

Tuesday, 28 Jan 2025

The year 2025 is anticipated to be a pivotal moment for local brands to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of their strategies in response to the increasingly complex market dynamics. Furthermore, the trend towards environmentally friendly lifestyles is rapidly gaining momentum year after year.

Achmad Alkatiri, CEO of Hypefast, predicts that 2025 will witness a rise in sustainability regulations across major economies, which will accelerate the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agendas within companies.

This prediction is supported by data from Kantar’s Creator Digest, a leading global marketing data and analytics firm, which reveals that 93% of consumers express a desire to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. "Sustainable product initiatives that have socio-environmental impacts will be in the spotlight in 2025. Consumers will no longer focus solely on product quality but will also seek products that align with their values—particularly those that resonate with their lifestyles," stated Alkatiri, as quoted on January 22, 2025.

As a result, enhancements in transparent supply chain communication, eco-friendly packaging initiatives, and concrete actions taken by brands towards sustainability goals will play a crucial role in brand development.

Awareness of Climate Change

The shift towards more environmentally friendly and sustainable lifestyles is driven by growing public awareness of climate change. By 2025, renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power are expected to become increasingly dominant, replacing more polluting fossil fuels. Homes and buildings will increasingly adopt energy-efficient technologies, such as solar panels and smart home systems that optimize energy use to minimize waste. The public will also show a growing preference for electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce their carbon footprint.
