Friday, 14 Mar 2025

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) noted that in 2024 there were 2.49 million Indonesian tourists visiting Singapore.

"In 2024 we achieved this in the sense that we increased the number of visitors who came by 8 percent higher than in 2023, which was 2.49 million visitors arrivals to Singapore from the Indonesian community," said Manager of Media Partnerships and Brand Campaign Singapore Tourism Board, Zalva Abigail Kamila at the Iftar Dinner event with STB, in Jakarta, Tuesday.

The number of Indonesian tourist visits to Singapore was recorded as being in second place globally and first in the Southeast Asia region for 2024.

Singapore's tourism revenue from Indonesian tourists reached 2.13 billion Singapore dollars for the period from January to September 2024, where this figure does not include the categories of sightseeing, entertainment, and gaming.

The category that dominated the growth in 2024 for Indonesian tourist visits to Singapore was shopping as the largest spending category, followed by accommodation and food & beverage (F&B).

Meanwhile, Singapore's tourism receipts reached 22.4 billion Singapore dollars, up 10 percent compared to the same period in 2023 or 20.3 billion Singapore dollars.

"Globally, we are 21 percent more than in 2023 at 16.5 million foreign tourists and with spending tourism receipts at 22.4 billion Singapore dollars," he said.

Zalva also said that Indonesia is the second largest visitor country at Singapore's Changi Airport. Currently, there are 13 cities in Indonesia whose airports are directly connected to Changi Airport with flights to Singapore.

"Indonesia itself is the second largest visitor arrival at Changi Airport. In terms of capacity, we will continue to add until the end of this year, where we currently have 393 total weekly departures from Indonesia to Singapore," he said.
