Plant Based Culinary Trends, Healthy And Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle

Wednesday, 14 May 2025

Recently, a healthy and environmentally conscious lifestyle has become increasingly popular among Indonesians.

One of the rising trends is plant-based cuisine.

A plant-based diet not only emphasizes the consumption of foods from plants, but also avoids some animal products.

According to Dr. T. Colin Campbell, a nutritionist and author of the book "The China Study", a plant-based diet can help prevent various chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.

It is no wonder that this trend is increasingly popular among various levels of society because of its impacts and benefits.

A plant-based diet is a diet that emphasizes plant-based foods and limits or avoids animal-based ingredients.

Plants here include vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, and other plant-based products.

There are various reasons why people are interested in living this lifestyle, including:

1. Consumption of plant-based foods is rich in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants which help reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.

2. Plant-based food production is more environmentally friendly with a much smaller carbon footprint and reduces water consumption and land use.

3. ?Reduce animal exploitation and suffering in the commercial livestock industry.
