BPJPH: Halal Food Certificates Are A Symbol Of Modern Lifestyle

Friday, 20 Jun 2025

Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) A Haikal Hassan encouraged all business actors to have halal certificates because they function economically and are intended for all groups, as well as being a symbol of cleanliness and health.

"In addition, halal certificates are also a modern and transparent lifestyle," he said during the socialization of halal products for Kudus MSMEs on the 4th Floor of the Kudus Regional Secretariat Building, Tuesday.

Present at the event were Kudus Regent Sam'ani Intakoris with his Deputy Bellinda Birton, Deputy Chairman of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives Abdul Wakhid, and Deputy for Halal Registration and Certification of BPJPH RI Mamad Slamet Burhanuddin.

In order to mass-produce halal certificate ownership, the administration has also been made easier. Meanwhile, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) who participate in the socialization of halal products for Kudus MSMEs can get them for free.

He admitted that the budget from the center was indeed limited, so for the time being 100 MSME actors in Kudus received free halal certificates through the SEHATI 2025 program (Free Halal Certification), while the rest will be sought to get assistance from the private sector through the corporate social responsibility program (CSR).

"Let the Kudus Regent later seek assistance from the private sector because in Kudus it is said that there are around 4,300 MSME actors," he said

nwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives Abdul Wakhid also encouraged MSME actors not to waste the facilities that have been prepared by the government. Early readiness will have a major impact on product competitiveness. This certification, he continued, also opens the door for MSMEs to enter a wider industrial supply chain.

"Halal certification is not a burden, but a long-term investment. Take advantage of the free halal certification (Sehati) 2025 to strengthen the competitiveness of MSME products," he said. Deputy for Halal Registration and Certification of BPJPH RI Mamad Slamet Burhanuddin also emphasized the importance of halal literacy for the community. Halal certificates not only provide guarantees to consumers, but also encourage business actors to understand the processes and values ??contained therein. "Halal certification increases public literacy regarding the products they consume. We want everyone to understand the meaning of halal certification, and know that the process of managing it is now much easier," he explained.

Kudus Regent Sam'ani Intakoris encouraged MSMEs in Kudus Regency to immediately have halal certificates as part of efforts to increase consumer trust while expanding the reach of the local product market to the national level. "Halal certification is important not only as an administrative requirement, but also as part of the integrity of business actors. This will increase consumer trust and open up wider market opportunities," he said.

In addition, he said, the people of Kudus Regency have long embraced the philosophy of life inherited from Sunan Kudus as a guideline in doing business. This philosophy is considered very relevant and contextual in building an honest, moral, and competitive business culture.
