The Ministry of Health is encouraging the public to raise awareness about balanced nutrition and regular physical activity through the "Si Paling Megang" (Lighting Up with Movement and Balanced Nutrition) campaign. "The Si Paling Megang campaign aims to build practical and healthy habits that are easy for young people to follow in their daily lives," said Elvieda Sariwati, Director of Health Promotion and Community Wellness at the Ministry of Health, in a press release received by Tempo on July 8, 2025.

"The latest data shows that only 4.7 percent of Jakarta residents consume sufficient fruits and vegetables, while around half of Jakarta residents are also inactive, far above the national average. These figures indicate that practical support to expand healthy lifestyle habits is urgently needed, especially among adolescents," said Elvieda.

The national "Si Paling Megang - Lighting Up with Movement and Balanced Nutrition" campaign is part of the national Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) program and has reached millions of Indonesian adolescents throughout 2025. The program is presented through various channels, including social media, online workshops, mobile app-based competitions, and public events in several cities. This campaign focuses on building healthy lifestyle habits among young people by increasing the consumption of nutritious, balanced local food and encouraging regular physical activity.

The national campaign roadshow "Si Paling Megang – Menyala dengan Gerak dan Gizi Seimbang" (The Most Powerful - Lights Up with Movement and Balanced Nutrition) took place at Tebet Eco Park, Jakarta, with support from the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and the active participation of the Jakarta Provincial Health Office. More than 500 teenagers and young people from various schools, universities, and communities in Jakarta and the surrounding areas participated in a series of activities, including walks, inspirational talks, healthy cooking demonstrations, community exhibitions, and a healthy lifestyle-themed scavenger hunt.

The Jakarta Provincial Health Office also offered free health checks (CKG) and counseling and education on balanced nutrition, provided by health workers from the Tebet Community Health Center. This campaign culminated in a successful roadshow in Samarinda in April 2025.
