Super Indo Supermarket, a leading supermarket chain in Indonesia, has officially received a halal certification from the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH). This achievement reflects their commitment to ensuring the halal status and quality of their products, while also boosting customer trust. The symbolic certificate handover event was attended by the Head of BPJPH, the President Director of LPPOM MUI, representatives from the Halal Science Center at IPB, and Super Indo's management. This milestone is significant in Super Indo's journey to becoming the most trusted retail company in Indonesia.

"Today marks an important moment for PT Lion Super Indo, as we proudly announce that Super Indo has successfully obtained Halal Certification from BPJPH. This achievement aligns with our vision to be the number one customer-oriented company in Indonesia. We recognize the trust our customers place in us, and we are dedicated to upholding that trust by providing products and services that meet quality and halal compliance standards. For us, halal certification is not just a label; it reflects our company's values of prioritizing quality and customer satisfaction," said Boudewijn van Nieuwenhuijzen, President Director of Super Indo.

Super Indo has successfully obtained Halal Certification in two key categories: non-processed sales services with ID number ID00410020402620824 and food & beverage provision with processing under ID number ID00410020401140824. Additionally, Super Indo has effectively implemented a Halal Product Assurance System with excellence.

Dr. H. Muhammad Aqil Irham, M.Si, the Acting Secretary General of BPJPH, praised Super Indo for achieving halal certification, noting that it will have a positive impact and add value for business operators.

We really appreciate Super Indo for earning their halal certification. This guarantee of halal products helps build trust within the community. With this certification, Super Indo is also contributing to the growth of the halal industry ecosystem in Indonesia, in line with the mandate of Law No. 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Assurance. Plus, it supports the government’s initiative that requires halal certification by October 17, 2024, especially for food, beverages, slaughtered products, and related services, as well as raw materials and food additives.

Next, the Executive Director of the MUI Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Research Institute (LPPOM MUI), Ir. Muti Arintawati, M.Si, mentioned that before applying for halal certification, companies need to implement a Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) that meets government regulations, and Super Indo has successfully completed this process. We want to express our appreciation to Super Indo for achieving halal certification.

This accomplishment showcases Super Indo's commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and integrity in their products. In today’s market, where consumers are increasingly aware of what they eat, this certification is crucial for fostering trust and transparency in the food industry.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Khaswar Syamsu, M.Sc, Head of the Halal Science Center at Bogor Agricultural University, added that they are proud to have been consultants for Super Indo during their halal certification journey. This achievement not only reflects Super Indo's dedication to providing quality products but also their commitment to meeting the strict halal standards expected by consumers. We believe that halal certification goes beyond mere compliance; it represents a holistic approach to food safety, quality assurance, and ethical responsibility.
