Amazon along with the new AI agent model, has officially launched the Nova Act SDK, a tool that allows developers to build agent prototypes with Nova Act. Techcrunch reported on Tuesday that Nova Act, developed at Amazon's AGI lab in San Francisco, has received support for various key features from the Alxa+ update and an improved voice assistant To be able to take advantage of this latest technology, developers can access the Nova Act tool on the new website nova.amazon.com which also functions as a place to showcase Amazon's various Nova foundation models. In this case, Nova Act is Amazon's effort to compete with the growing trend in the digital industry such as the presence of Open AI and also Anthropic's Computer Use which is equipped with its versatile AI agent technology. In fact, several leading technology companies believe that AI agents that can navigate the web for users will make today's AI chatbots much more useful. In terms of performance, Amazon's technology can be used by developers to fulfill several things they want, such as ordering a salad from Sweetgreen or making a dinner reservation. With the Nova Act toolkit, developers can also build tools that let AI agents navigate web pages, fill out forms, or select dates on a calendar. Amazon claims that Nova Act outperformed agents from OpenAI and Anthropic on several of the company’s internal tests. For example, on ScreenSpot Web Text, which measures how AI agents interact with on-screen text, Nova Act scored 94 percent, ahead of OpenAI’s CUA (which scored 88 percent) and Anthropic’s Claude 3.7 Sonnet (90 percent). However, in its testing, Amazon did not actually measure Nova Act using more common agent evaluations, such as WebVoyager.
