Users of the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 models may be acquainted with Apple Intelligence, an AI feature introduced by Apple last year that provides a range of advanced capabilities. Apple Intelligence includes tools such as the Writing Tool, Image Playground, and Genmoji. Unfortunately, several popular applications, including Facebook and Instagram, do not support these functionalities. Features like the Writing Tool and Genmoji available in Apple Intelligence are no longer operational within Meta's applications, which also extends to WhatsApp and Threads. Typically, iPhone users can access these tools by tapping the text field, but this is not applicable in those specific applications. The ability to add keyboard stickers and Memoji to Instagram Stories has also been removed. Most applications support Apple Intelligence features by default; however, developers have the option to disable them. It appears that Meta has opted not to support this feature, possibly as part of its strategy to encourage users to utilize Meta AI, its integrated AI feature across all Meta applications that offers similar capabilities. According to PhoneArena on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, this decision is not surprising given the long history of disputes between Meta and Apple regarding App Store policies. Furthermore, although there were reports of discussions between the two companies to integrate Meta's Llama AI into Apple Intelligence, those negotiations reportedly failed, likely due to privacy concerns that Apple prioritizes.
