Apple is reportedly potentially changing the launch schedule of its latest iPhone line in 2026 on the grounds that the company will pave the way and release its first foldable iPhone. Quoted from The Verge, Sunday (4/5), the company plans to release its foldable iPhone along with the iPhone 18 Pro and Air models. Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 series will be released the following year, namely in mid-2027 along with the new successor to the iPhone 16e. This news was first reported by The Information which also said that changes to the product release schedule needed to be made by Apple to keep the line of phones, which will later number six, easy to manage sales. With a slimmer model in the product line and a foldable model expected to be released in 2026, The Information said Apple needs to change the launch schedule to keep the bloated line of six iPhones easy to manage. Regarding what Apple's foldable phone model will look like, it is predicted that the company will use a book-like display and not a flip display that is identical to a clamshell. It is known that the phone will have a size of 5.7 inches when closed and 8 inches when opened. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also previously revealed that the device will be 4.5–4.8mm thick when unfolded and will use Face ID technology instead of Touch ID for device security support. The report includes other interesting information, such as Apple's plans to introduce a new battery case for the iPhone 17 Air. It is also mentioned that the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models will get the long-rumored under-display Face ID sensor, leaving the device with only a small hole in the upper left corner for the phone's front camera.
