Google Has Launched Flow, An AI-powered Video Tool For Filmmakers

Tuesday, 27 May 2025

At the Google I/O 2025 conference, Google unveiled Flow, a new video tool powered by artificial intelligence (AI). This tool is designed to simplify the process of filmmaking and video content creation.

Flow integrates three AI models from Google. These models include Veo for video creation, Imagen for image generation, and Gemini for text and instructions.

With Flow, users can import characters and scenes from external sources. Additionally, users have the capability to create characters and scenes directly within the tool, as reported by TechCrunch on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Its standout features include camera controls for adjusting shooting angles. Furthermore, there is a scene creator for editing and extending videos, as well as an asset management tool that streamlines the production process.

Google also launched 'Flow TV', a platform showcasing a collection of video clips from other users. This platform is equipped with creative guidelines that assist users in understanding the video creation process.

Flow will initially be available to users in the United States through the Google AI Pro and AI Ultra packages. Pro users receive a quota of 100 videos per month, while Ultra users gain access to more content and the latest video models from Google.

This policy represents Google's effort to broaden access to AI video creation tools for a wider audience, competing with other startups in the same field, such as Moonvalley and D-ID.
