Google is testing a new launch animation for Gemini in Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2. This update also addresses a bug that caused vibrations to be lost when the power button is pressed and held. According to 9to5Google, on Sunday (June 15, 2025), in the latest testing, the new animation first shows the screen shrinking. After that, the Gemini layer begins to appear on the display. Once the black borders on each side of the screen reach their maximum point, the Gemini overlay starts to slide upwards. This display features options such as 'Ask about the screen' and 'Share with Live'. The visual effects create the impression of a physical screen shrinking, making it appear smoother and more appealing. However, this feature is not yet widely available and only appears on select Pixel devices. In addition to the changes in the Gemini animation, Google is also re-evaluating the design of the search field in the Pixel Launcher with AI Mode. Although it briefly disappeared from some devices, the 'G' logo with a gradient color remains visible. Through this testing, Google seems to be refining the user experience. This policy is being implemented in anticipation of the official launch of Android 16.
