As the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 transportation period approaches, the Ministry of Transportation is making various efforts to improve transport services. One key initiative is collaborating with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). The TNI and the Ministry complement each other in maintaining the nation's stability and progress. This was stated by Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi during a meeting with TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto at the TNI Headquarters in Jakarta on Friday, December 13. "The Ministry of Transportation, as the main driver of the transport and logistics sector, fully understands the importance of the security and order support provided by the TNI in all aspects of transport management, whether by land, sea, air, or rail," said the Minister. Furthermore, the Minister shared the results of a survey for the 2024/2025 holiday season, predicting that the total mobility of the population will reach 110.67 million movements. The forecast includes 2.5 million passengers at terminals, 1.6 million at ferry crossings, 6.8 million at train stations, 1.3 million at ports, and 8.2 million at airports. The main routes most used by car drivers are the Trans Java Toll Road with an estimated 6.67 million vehicles, Trans Sumatra with 5.31 million vehicles, and Cipularang Toll Road with 2.22 million vehicles. For motorbike users, the most frequented routes are the North Coast Road of Java (Pantura) at 34.81% and the Central Java Road at 29.11%. To follow up on these plans, the Ministry will set up a Nataru 2024/2025 Post, which will operate for 19 days from December 18, 2024, to January 5, 2025, according to the Minister. All senior officials from the Ministry of Transportation were also present.
