Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, alongside the Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, engaged in discussions regarding the integration of the Coretax system with government digital services, also known as government technology (GovTech). "Today, I had a discussion with Mr. Luhut and the DEN team to deliberate on strategic steps for the development of government technology, including synchronization with Coretax," stated Sri Mulyani on her Instagram account @smindrawati in Jakarta on Tuesday. She elaborated that the Coretax system, developed by the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), is part of the tax reform efforts aimed at integrating the entire tax administration system. With a more integrated system, it is anticipated that tax administration processes will become more efficient, transparent, accountable, and will enhance taxpayer compliance. The Minister of Finance emphasized that her team, in collaboration with DEN, is committed to maintaining interoperability. This will ensure effective coordination and collaboration among government electronic systems, including the integration of data within the Coretax system. "All these efforts are aimed at improving efficiency and, most importantly, building public trust in government governance," she added. The State Treasurer assured that the DJP is diligently working to ensure the optimal functioning of this system amidst various dynamics and challenges in the implementation of Coretax. She expressed hope that the public would actively participate in supporting the success of Coretax, including providing suggestions and feedback, as well as gaining a thorough understanding of the DJP system. Meanwhile, the Chairman of DEN expressed confidence in the crucial role of the Coretax system in national tax reform. He voiced full support for the system, which has been in operation since early January 2025. "Although still in the transition phase, I am confident that this system will gradually function effectively," stated Luhut.
