Pertamina Central Hospital (RSPP), the leading hospital under PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC (IHC), has officially launched its new One Day Care (ODC) Chemotherapy service. This initiative is part of its commitment to enhance oncology services and coincides with World Cancer Day, celebrated on February 4. Previously, ODC Chemotherapy was available in the inpatient area on the 7th floor of RSPP. However, due to the growing demand for more modern and efficient chemotherapy facilities, RSPP has undergone a complete renovation to offer more innovative services. The upgraded facilities aim to provide a more comfortable and efficient chemotherapy experience for cancer patients. The ODC Chemotherapy service at RSPP allows patients to receive chemotherapy treatment in a short time without needing to stay overnight. With this one-day care concept, patients can get their treatment and return home in less than 24 hours, reducing the risk of hospital infections and enhancing patient comfort. This facility features eight cubical rooms equipped with advanced medical equipment, including bedside monitors, syringe pumps, chemotherapy beds, and consultation rooms. All these facilities are designed to ensure patient safety, comfort, and high-quality service. The ODC Chemotherapy service at RSPP offers numerous benefits for patients. It allows them to undergo therapy without an overnight hospital stay, thus reducing hospitalization time and enabling them to return home quickly after the procedure. Additionally, the risk of infection is minimized since patients do not have to remain in a hospital environment for extended periods. In terms of cost and time, this service is more efficient, providing a flexible treatment alternative compared to traditional methods. A comprehensive medical approach is implemented with close observation after the procedure to ensure the patient's condition remains stable and receives optimal care. The ODC Chemotherapy service at RSPP is supported by a team of oncology specialists and trained nurses skilled in medical hematology oncology. Before undergoing therapy in this unit, each patient will have an assessment by a specialist doctor to ensure the procedure matches their medical condition. “With the introduction of One Day Care Chemotherapy, we aim to provide a more effective, comfortable therapy option that meets the needs of cancer patients. This facility is part of RSPP's commitment to enhancing oncology services and providing a better medical experience for patients,” said Dr. Neny Herawati, Director of RSPP. As the Holding Company of State-Owned Hospitals overseeing various hospitals and clinics in Indonesia, IHC continues to innovate in delivering quality healthcare services. Dr. Lukman Ma’ruf, President Director of IHC, stated that the launch of ODC Chemotherapy at RSPP is a strategic step in improving oncology services in Indonesia. “IHC is committed to continuously developing innovative healthcare services based on patient needs. One Day Care Chemotherapy at RSPP is a tangible effort to provide oncology services that are more accessible, efficient, and maintain high quality,” said Dr. Lukman Ma’ruf. Linda Amalia Sari Gumelar, Chairperson of the Indonesian Breast Cancer Foundation (YKPI), who attended the inauguration of the ODC Chemotherapy service at RSPP, expressed appreciation for this initiative. “The presence of this facility is a significant advancement in improving services for cancer patients, especially those needing chemotherapy with a faster and more comfortable process,” she stated.
