The efficiency of the budget for ministries and agencies will serve as a reference in the preparation of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget Plan (RAPBN) for the year 2026. This aligns with the directive from President Prabowo Subianto, as outlined in Instruction Number 1 of 2025. Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that the current budget cuts implemented by the government aim to foster a new culture within ministries and agencies. "We also agree that the efficiencies achieved by ministries and agencies in 2025 will serve as a baseline, as this creates a new culture of efficiency within the bureaucracy across all ministries and agencies. Therefore, the outcomes from 2025 will certainly be utilized in the preparation for 2026," said Sri Mulyani during a working meeting with Commission XI, as reported on Friday, February 14, 2025. Sri Mulyani emphasized that this budget efficiency not only establishes a new culture but also underscores the importance of executing tasks efficiently, swiftly, and effectively. Nevertheless, she assured that the work targets set for the Ministry of Finance will continue without any reduction in program efficiency. "Public services will not be compromised, and various targets will not be diminished," Sri Mulyani stated. On another note, she expressed that this budget efficiency aims to sharpen the Asta Cita in accordance with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto.
