Thursday, 20 Feb 2025

Head of the Jakarta Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD), Michael Rolandi Cesnanta Brata said that he would streamline the budget of Rp1.5 trillion applied in various sectors to follow Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025.

"We have marked the budget that can be saved, with a value of Rp1.548 trillion, which will later be allocated to support more strategic programs, especially those that directly impact public services," said Michael at the Jakarta City Hall, Monday.

Michael explained that a number of sectors that are the focus of efficiency include restrictions on spending on ceremonial activities, studies, printing, seminars, as well as reducing spending on official travel and honorariums.

In the budget combing process, Michael continued, his party is working with the DKI Jakarta Assistant Secretary forum to ensure that each Regional Work Unit (SKPD) makes in-depth budget adjustments.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has also adjusted the budget allocation for food and beverages in various activities, especially those related to field activities, meetings, and guest receptions. This step was taken to reduce waste and ensure that the budget is more focused on the main objective, namely improving the quality of public services," said Michael.

Furthermore, Michael said that the reduction in official travel costs was carried out mainly on activities related to comparative studies and overseas travel.

Michael explained that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government hopes that this efficiency step can have a positive impact on the community.

"With a more effective budget allocation for more strategic and targeted development programs," he said.
