The PT Holding Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III (Persero) and the National Narcotics Agency of Indonesia held a meeting to prevent and eradicate drug use in the PTPN Group's working area. The meeting took place at the BNN Headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday (3/7/2014). Several high-ranking officials from the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN) attended the meeting, including the Head of BNN, Komjen Pol Dr. Marthinus Hukom, S.I.K., M.Si, the Deputy for Prevention, Irjen Pol Dr. Drs. Richard M Nainggolan, SH.,MM.,MBA, the Deputy for Community Empowerment, Irjen Pol Drs. Heri Maryadi, M.M., the Deputy for Eradication, Irjen Pol Drs. I Wayan Sugiri, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si, and the Acting Deputy for Rehabilitation, Brigjen Pol Dr. Farid Amansyah, Sp.PD. The Director of Risk Management of PTPN III (Persero), M. Arifin Firdaus, accompanied by the Head of Institutional Relations and Legal Division of PTPN III (Persero), Hengki Heriandono, conveyed the purpose and objectives of the meeting as PTPN III's commitment to creating a healthy and drug-free work environment. The meeting continued with discussions covering the integration of PTPN Group and the support needed from BNN, including coordinating efforts to prevent and eradicate drugs, cooperation in drug testing, as well as raising awareness about the dangers of drugs among employees in the PTPN Group environment. The Director of Risk Management of PTPN III (Persero) expressed hope that in the efforts to increase the productivity of PTPN Group's commodities, employees, especially those in the field, will be protected from the dangers of narcotics. The Head of BNN RI, Marthinus Hukom S.I.K., M.Si, welcomed the visit of PTPN III (Persero) and hoped that the synergy between PTPN III and BNN could serve as a model for other companies in implementing efforts to prevent and eradicate drugs in the workplace. The head of BNN supports the prevention and eradication of drugs in the PTPN Group plantations to achieve drug-free (shining) gardens. The head of BNN hopes that the increasingly close cooperation between PTPN III (Persero) and BNN RI can be embodied in the form of an MoU, so that drug prevention and eradication activities can be carried out further in the Regional PTPN Group with BNN district/city.
