Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that Indonesia is increasingly recognized on the global stage amidst current global challenges. He revealed that the invitation extended to President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, by Vladimir Putin to visit Russia serves as evidence of this. "President Prabowo received a special invitation from President Putin, which, in light of the current challenging global situation, indicates that Indonesia is gaining recognition worldwide," Teddy expressed on the Cabinet Secretariat's Instagram account on Sunday evening, June 15, 2025. Teddy elaborated that Prabowo, along with a limited delegation, has departed for an official state visit to Russia. However, prior to heading to Russia, Prabowo will first visit Singapore to meet with Singapore's Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong. "And he will attend the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat on June 16, 2025," he stated. Following this, Teddy mentioned that Prabowo will then proceed to Russia. In Russia, Prabowo, who has been directly invited by President Vladimir Putin, will receive an official state welcome on June 19, 2025. The two leaders will also engage in a bilateral meeting. The next day, Prabowo is scheduled to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025 as the keynote speaker at this event. "This state visit is highly strategic for strengthening comprehensive cooperation and partnership between Indonesia and Russia," Teddy clarified. "Moreover, it underscores Indonesia's status as a significant nation, increasingly recognized globally, especially amidst the rising global challenges that are currently evolving," he added.
