Konimex Indonesia Is Celebrating 57 Years Of Contributing To The Nation, Promoting Health, And Growing Together

Konimex Group, a key player in Indonesia's consumer goods and healthcare sectors, recently celebrated its 57th anniversary with the presence of Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka and KGPAA Mangkoenagoro X. The journey began in Solo back in 1967, founded by Mr. and Mrs. Djoenaedi Joesoef. The company, known as PT Konimex (short for Kondang Impor Ekspor), has grown significantly over the years. Now, 57 years later, it operates in dozens of countries and stands as a market leader both nationally and internationally, including in Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia. This anniversary also marks 25 years in Myanmar, 20 years in Vietnam, and 19 years in Cambodia.

Mr. Djoenaedi Joesoef started the business by selling his own concoctions of medicine from market to market, and today, Konimex has expanded into various sectors, including over-the-counter and prescription drugs, food, beverages, biscuits, personal care products, medical devices, candy, vitamins, supplements, nutrition, traditional herbal remedies, and distribution.

The company's success is rooted in maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and its commitment to CSR activities. Looking ahead, the company aims to sharpen its awareness of changes in the business climate, both at the industry and macro levels, while enhancing its capabilities to adapt and maintain an underdog mentality, even as a large-scale operation.

During the event, Edward Joesoef, the Group Chief Strategy Officer, expressed his hope for guidance and input from Gibran, aiming for Konimex to play a more significant role in Indonesia's journey towards becoming a Golden Indonesia by 2045, while also contributing to advancements in the healthcare and food industries.

During this occasion, Mas Gibran expressed his hopes, saying, "It's truly amazing that Konimex has been contributing to the nation for 57 years. We really hope that in the future, Konimex continues to innovate and create job opportunities."

Healthy Together, Growing Together

With a strong desire to provide the best, Konimex always strives to ensure that each of its products meets consumer needs. To achieve this, Konimex conducts market research to understand what consumers want and need, while also enhancing its research and development for new products within its core business areas, which include pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and natural extract products, to keep up with the diverse needs of society.

This drive has led to various innovations in all its products, from more economical packaging to better materials and modern production technologies.

To make sure its products are easily accessible to everyone, Konimex established PT Sinar Intermark and PT Marga Nusantara Jaya as its official distributors. Over time, these two companies merged into PT Marga Nusantara Jaya, which is responsible for distributing Konimex products widely, covering wholesale, traditional markets, retailers, pharmacies, and all types of supermarkets across Indonesia.

As the products and target markets evolved year by year, the distribution company expanded its network. From 33 branches in 1992, it grew to 56 branches by 2017, supported by a fleet of vehicles and thousands of staff stretching from Banda Aceh to Jayapura. After serving all corners of Indonesia, Konimex is now spreading its wings further by entering international markets like Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, and even the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia.
