Participants of the Bali Annual Telkom International Conference (BATIC) 2024, organized by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin), a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, kicked off the second day of the conference with a Charity Morning Run. The theme for this day is "Charting a Sustainable Course," focusing on how industry players are integrating sustainability practices into their business operations. During a panel discussion titled “Industry’s Collaborative Effort to a Sustainable Future,” Telkom's VP of Sustainability, Gunawan Wasisto Ciptaning Andri, shared insights on how TelkomGroup operates based on sustainability principles across all its entities. He mentioned, “Telkom has an ESG program called EXIST (ESG Existence for Sustainability by Telkom Indonesia), which is divided into three pillars: Right Environment Approach for the Environment pillar, Right People for the Social pillar, and Right Governance for the Governance pillar. This is implemented through various company initiatives, including data protection management, compliance with regulations and corporate governance, as well as promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equality in our workplace.” Gunawan also highlighted, “In terms of environmental efforts, TelkomGroup fully supports the Net Zero Emissions program. The company is taking steps to enhance energy efficiency, which will ultimately reduce emissions.” Joining the panel discussion were Iman Muhammad, Regional VP/Country Director at Salesforce Indonesia; Julian Gorman, Head of APAC at GSMA; Kishan Thakarshi, VP of ESG Solutions at HSBC Global Banking; and Yessie Yosetya, Director & Chief Enterprise Business & Corporate Affairs Officer at XL Axiata. The second day of the conference featured Susumu Yoneoka, Senior Director of Finance and Sustainability (APAC) at NTT Global Data Centers CBJ1, who presented on “Integrating Sustainable Practices in Data Center Operations: A Case Study from NTT GDC.” Attendees delved into how innovative and sustainable strategies from a leading data center provider are being implemented, including the adoption of renewable energy solutions, enhancing energy efficiency, and contributing to environmental impact reduction. Next up was Adir Ginting, Head of Enterprise Sales for Google Cloud SEA, who discussed “Meeting the Next Generation of Internet Demand through Sustainable Approaches.” He highlighted how sustainable practices, like promoting energy-efficient innovations and utilizing eco-friendly infrastructure, are essential to meet the growing demand for internet services. Additionally, Vito Di Maria, Vice President of APAC Optical Networks Business Center at Nokia, shared insights on “Scale Made Simple: Innovations for Sustainable Optical Networking,” focusing on how the latest innovations are designed to create efficient, smart, and secure networks for a greener future. Throughout the first and second days of the BATIC 2024 conference, there were also “Telin Insights” sessions covering various topics in digital and telecommunications, particularly for the Enterprise segment. Moreover, as part of their commitment to fostering innovation and digitalization, TelkomGroup, through Telin, proudly introduced TNeX Net, their latest product on the TNeX Platform, offering Layer 3 (internet) solutions with flexibility and instant provisioning. This new service enhances the TNeX digital platform as a global connectivity ecosystem, providing a more comprehensive range of global connectivity products across Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3.
