As the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia (Indonesian GP) - MotoGPTM 2024 approaches, scheduled for September 27-29, 2024, PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (ITDC) has teamed up with its subsidiary, PT Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) Nusantara Jaya, along with relevant agencies to establish an Evacuation Task Force. This initiative includes a Tactical Floor Game (TFG) and a readiness briefing for the task force, along with a field inspection, all part of the preparations for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024. The TFG aims to ensure that emergency response procedures, personnel, and facilities are ready at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) on Friday, September 20. This effort involves close coordination with various organizations, including Korem 162 Wira Bhakti, Polda NTB, BMKG, Basarnas, and local government bodies in NTB and Central Lombok through BPBD, Health Department, Social Services, Fire Department, and others, to ensure safety and comfort for racers, crews, and spectators. Wenda R Nabiel, the Operations Director of ITDC, emphasized that "Safety and Disaster Preparedness are crucial for the success of a world-class event. For the Indonesian GP 2024, ITDC is committed to ensuring safety and disaster readiness at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit by forming the MotoGP 2024 Evacuation Task Force, led by the Commander of Korem 162 Wira Bhakti, with the Head of BPBD NTB as the deputy chair. The task force includes members from BMKG, Basarnas, BPBD, Social Services, Health Department, Fire and Rescue Services from NTB and Central Lombok. ITDC is also engaging the local community through the Disaster Resilient Village Forum (Destana) and Disaster Resilient Youth (Tagana)." A task force made up of 320 personnel from various organizations, including Korem 162 Wira Bhakti, Polda NTB, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Health Department, the Social Services Department, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Fire and Rescue Department, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), and other related agencies is in action. Wenda mentioned, "ITDC and the Evacuation Task Force have created an evacuation plan map that identifies 10 assembly points, which are between 700 to 2000 meters apart and can be reached in 5 to 20 minutes." For security, Polda NTB has deployed nearly 2,500 personnel and set up 24 security posts along with 7 hilltop security posts in the KEK Mandalika area. They have tasked the Lombok Tengah Police and the Mandalika Police Station to enhance security leading up to and during the Pertamina GP of Indonesia event by increasing nighttime patrols in the Special Economic Zone of Mandalika. Meanwhile, Basarnas and the Lombok Tengah Fire and Rescue Department will prepare personnel and provide adequate vehicles and operational equipment around the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit to ensure safety and security during the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia. The close collaboration between Korem 162 Wira Bhakti, Polda NTB, the NTB Provincial Government, Lombok Tengah Regency, BMKG, Basarnas, and other agencies is crucial for ensuring the safety and comfort of the thousands of spectators expected at the Pertamina GP of Indonesia at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. We are committed to continuously improving the quality of the event year after year, not just by enhancing facilities and side events, but also by ensuring the highest standards of safety and disaster preparedness.
