Blibli Invites Students From 3 Campuses To Grab Opportunities At The Road To Langkah Membumi Festival

Monday, 28 Oct 2024

The Indonesian government is focusing on five key sectors to implement a circular economy, which include food, retail (with an emphasis on plastic packaging), textiles, construction, and electronics. This shift towards a circular economy is expected to create 4.4 million green jobs across various fields by 2030.

In light of this potential, PT Global Digital Niaga Tbk (known as 'Blibli' and listed on the stock exchange under the code 'BELI') is reinforcing its commitment to sustainability through the Blibli Tiket Action initiative. This program focuses on training and development to prepare green talents, featuring a series of University Roadshows at three prominent universities: Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Pertamina, and Universitas Bina Nusantara Alam Sutera.

The theme of the roadshow, “CollaborAction: Turning Sustainability into a Career Path,” is part of the Road to Langkah Membumi Festival 2024, which will take place on November 2-3, 2024, at Senayan Park in Jakarta.

This roadshow aims to be a platform for students to exchange ideas and collaborate on acquiring Green Skills, while also encouraging active participation in addressing environmental challenges as Green Talents.

Ignacia Chiara Irawan, Head of ESG at Blibli, stated, "Blibli believes that the youth are the 'generators' for creating a better future. Through the University Roadshow, we aim to enhance the social impact of Blibli Tiket Action by encouraging young people to understand sustainability in a broad and practical way. We also want to raise awareness about green job opportunities amidst climate change challenges while bridging the gap between academia and industry to prepare green talents that meet future industry needs."

Chiara also added, “In just a week, young people will have the chance to learn directly from practitioners and experts to become green talents at the Langkah Membumi Festival 2024 in Senayan Park. Mark your calendars and don’t miss out!”

This roadshow is all about educating students on their role in tackling the climate crisis, featuring an interactive talk show attended by over 350 students. They got to dive into fun activities like the Bring Your Own Tumblr movement to cut down on bottled drink packaging, a creative reels competition with cool prizes, and internship opportunities in the sustainability sector by sending their CVs through a QR Code at the booth and during the talk show for aspiring Green Talents.

Hari Aprianto, a participant from the University Roadshow at Universitas Pertamina, shared, “This event really opened my eyes to the importance of youth in creating a green future. Plus, the green job opportunities can be a solution for sustainable living.” Inspired by the event, Hari wants to rally more young people and environmental enthusiasts to join in and raise awareness about the need for real contributions to a sustainable future.
