The Swearing-In Ceremony For New House Members Of 2024 – 2029 Term

The official inauguration of the members of the House of Representatives (DPR), the Regional Representative Council (DPD), and the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term occurred on Tuesday, October 1, at the DPR/MPR building in Senayan, Jakarta. A total of 580 representatives from eight political parties and 84 electoral districts were formally sworn in as members of the DPR for this legislative period.

The results of the 2024 legislative elections indicate that the DPR for the 2024-2029 term comprises eight factions from parties that surpassed the 4 percent parliamentary threshold. These parties include PDIP, Golkar, Gerindra, PKB, NasDem, PKS, Demokrat, and PAN. The allocation of seats is as follows: PDIP has 110 seats, Golkar has 102 seats, Gerindra has 86 seats, NasDem has 69 seats, PKB has 68 seats, PKS has 53 seats, PAN has 48 seats, and Demokrat has 44 seats.

The swearing-in ceremony for the members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2024-2029 term is presided over by the interim Speaker of the House, who is chosen from a group of six representatives, including both the youngest and oldest members of the assembly.


The three youngest members of the House of Representatives, listed by age, are as follows:  

- Annisa M.A. Mahesa, 23 years old, from the Gerindra Party, representing the Banten II electoral district.  

- Muhammad Rohid, 24 years old, also from the Gerindra Party, representing the Riau II electoral district.  

- Cindy Monica Salsabila Setiawan, 24 years old, from the NasDem Party, representing the West Sumatra II electoral district.  


On the other hand, the three oldest members, ranked by age, include:  

- Zulfikar Achmad, aged 78, from the Democratic Party.  

- Guntur Sasono, who is also 78, from the Democratic Party.  

- Kahar Muzakir, who is 77 years old, from the Golkar Party.  


Additionally, the leadership positions within the House of Representatives have been assigned according to the number of seats held, as follows:  


House Speaker: Puan Maharani (PDI-P)  

Deputy Speakers:  

- Adies Kadir (Golkar)  

- Sufmi Dasco Ahmad (Gerindra)  

- Saan Mustopa (NasDem)  

- Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal (PKB)
