McDonald’s Indonesia, under PT Rekso Nasional Food, is launching exciting activities to celebrate Heroes' Day. This year, through a national hero cosplay campaign, McDonald’s Indonesia invites the public to learn more about the stories and contributions of national heroes. The activities will run from November 8, 2024, to February 5, 2025. Some initiatives include educational events at the Indonesian Military Museum in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), a National Hero Cosplay event, and fun, interactive games for friends and families to enjoy together. “As a company that has grown in this country, McDonald’s Indonesia is committed to fostering a sense of nationalism among the youth. For us, Heroes' Day is not just a reminder of the heroes' contributions but also aims to inspire the younger generation by instilling values of heroism that we have consistently promoted since 2021,” said Caroline Kurniadjaja, Associate Director of Marketing at McDonald's Indonesia. For four consecutive years, McDonald’s Indonesia has been dedicated to introducing the struggles of national heroes to children and families. This time, under the campaign ‘Mana Lagi Selain di +62’, McDonald’s Indonesia is innovating to present initiatives that resonate with the Indonesian public, enhancing national pride in a modern way. “This year, we are offering this initiative for about four months, which is longer than in previous years. In line with the 2024 Heroes' Day theme, ‘Emulate Your Heroes, Love Your Country’, we hope these educational activities will be more effective and inspire the youth to embody the spirit of our national heroes in their daily lives,” Caroline added. This year's Hero's Day celebration by McDonald's Indonesia includes four main activities: McDonald's Indonesia Invites Customers to the TMII Military Museum On November 17, 2024, McDonald's Indonesia will host a series of events at the Indonesian Military Museum to celebrate Hero's Day. The event will feature three families of national heroes: the Kiras Bangun family, Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwono X, and Pangeran Antasari. Attendees can enjoy performances of angklung music and a musical drama by children from the Violin Nusantara and Belantara Budaya communities. This allows participants to honor the heroes through the stories shared by their descendants. Additionally, children will have the chance to see five cosplayers dressed as national heroes and hear exciting tales about them through unique cosplay performances. Lieutenant Colonel Sus Ede Aulah, S.S, Msi., Head of the Indonesian Military Museum, expressed gratitude in his speech, stating, "By supporting Pusjarah TNI activities, McDonald's Indonesia shows that 'Know Your History, Love Your Nation' is not just a slogan but a real action. Since 2021, McDonald's Indonesia has fostered a love for history among parents and children by presenting it in a unique and engaging way. Iskandar Purba, M.T., representing the Kiras Bangun family, also expressed appreciation, saying, "We, the family of the national hero Kiras Bangun, are very grateful to McDonald's Indonesia for facilitating and promoting the names of the national heroes who fought for Indonesia's independence."
