Xurya, together with Huawei Indonesia and JJ-Lapp Indonesia, officially signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to support the acceleration of renewable energy adoption in Indonesia. The signing took place at the SNEC 2024 event, held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NICC) in Shanghai, People's Republic of China, on Friday (14/06). The LoI was signed by Philip Effendy (Vice President Operations Xurya), Jin Song (Head of Department of Digital Power Business Unit Huawei Indonesia), and Raja Hotmarasi (Head of Renewable Energy JJ-Lapp Indonesia). In this strategic collaboration, the three parties are committed to promoting the increase of installed solar power capacity in various regions of Indonesia and providing human resources training in the solar power sector. Philip Effendy, Vice President Operations Xurya, stated, "We are committed to supporting the Indonesian government's commitment to achieve net-zero emissions (NZE) by 2060, especially by continuously promoting the adoption of solar power in Indonesia." The collaboration between Xurya, Huawei Indonesia, and JJ-Lapp Indonesia will combine the expertise and resources of each party to overcome any challenges in accelerating the development of sustainable solar power projects. According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the total installed solar power capacity (ground-mounted, floating, and rooftop) in 2023 reached 573.8MW, with rooftop solar power accounting for 140 megawatts (MW). These figures are still far from the target set for 2025, which is 3.6 gigawatts (GW). Jin Song, Head of Department of Digital Power Business Unit Huawei Indonesia, said, "At Huawei, we integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with electrical technology to maximize power efficiency and digitize the power industry. Indonesia has great potential in solar energy compared to wind or hydro energy sources." By harnessing this abundant solar energy source, we can support Indonesia's energy transition to contribute even more to green energy and drive industrial transformation, creating more job opportunities and competent human resources for the benefit of the Indonesian nation. Therefore, Huawei is very open to collaborating with all relevant parties, especially Huawei's strategic partners, to jointly contribute to this energy transformation journey. In addition, Raja Hotmarasi, Head of Department Renewable Energy, JJ-Lapp Indonesia, added, "This collaboration is one of our active roles in supporting the renewable energy transition in Indonesia and reducing carbon emissions, thus providing long-term benefits for the industry, society, and the environment as a whole." All three parties agree that in pursuing the energy mix target in 2025, the involvement and readiness of human resources will be crucial factors to ensure the successful adoption of renewable energy in Indonesia according to plan.As a solution, the Solar Academy Program is one of the collaborations mentioned in the cooperation agreement. This program aims to train and develop competent professionals in the solar power sector and is expected to make a significant contribution to achieving the net zero emission goal by 2060."As one of the Indonesian companies with 100% local workforce, Xurya hopes that the education program being developed by the three of us can help build competitiveness and skills of local human resources in the solar power field and reduce the dependence of strategic industries (energy) on foreign experts," Philip concluded.
