Wednesday, 09 Jul 2025

The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has recorded a total of business matching transactions for the export of micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) amounting to 87.04 million US dollars, equivalent to 1.41 trillion Indonesian Rupiah, during the first semester of 2025.

The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso is optimistic that the business matching initiatives by Kemendag will continue to contribute to the acceleration of UMKM product exports.

"Business matching serves as a concrete strategy to connect Indonesian UMKM with international buyers. Kemendag facilitates and acts as a catalyst to enable UMKM to elevate their status and enhance their global competitiveness," Budi stated in a press release in Jakarta on Wednesday.

This figure includes purchase orders (PO) valued at 52.70 million US dollars and potential transactions amounting to 34.34 million US dollars.

Throughout the first semester of 2025, a total of 356 business matching activities were conducted, which included 241 business presentation sessions (pitching) and 115 direct meetings between UMKM and buyers from various countries.

The Director General of National Export Development (PEN) at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, reported that the total value of business exploration transactions has increased by 26.78 percent compared to the period of January to May 2025, amounting to 68.65 million US dollars.

"We are continuously striving to serve as a strategic link between MSMEs and international markets. Through business matching, MSMEs not only penetrate markets but also achieve sustainable growth," she explained.

Meanwhile, for June 2025, transactions worth 18.39 million US dollars were recorded, originating from 16 buyers across eight partner trading countries.

In this month, a total of 140 MSMEs participated in 60 business exploration activities. The leading sectors include fashion, coffee, powdered chocolate, home decor, batik products, furniture, fiberboard, jelly, pharmaceuticals, and other processed food and beverages.

Puntodewi emphasized the Ministry of Trade's commitment to continually strengthen the national export ecosystem. This effort is pursued, among other things, through the Ministry's priority program, which aims to promote MSME exports.
