In an effort to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 and 3, FIFGROUP, a subsidiary of PT Astra International Tbk and part of Astra Financial, will once again introduce the "SeCanting" program or Healthy Cheerful Without Stunting in 2024. This program will be implemented in five cities, namely Pandeglang, Maumere, Surabaya, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta. The program also represents FIFGROUP's commitment to providing positive impact to the community through 3 Aspects of Sustainability Strategy, particularly in the Public Contribution Strategy which falls under the FIFGROUP Healthy pillar. FIFGROUP's commitment in this program aims to improve the health and well-being of children and pregnant women in Indonesia, with a focus on addressing stunting which remains a significant challenge in the country. The total empowerment target of this program is for 350 individuals, consisting of 150 malnourished children, 150 pregnant women, and 50 prospective couples. According to data from the Ministry of Health as of June 2024, the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia still stands at 21%, affecting around 2 million toddlers. Although there has been improvement, the national target to reduce stunting prevalence to 14% by the end of 2024 still requires collaboration and continuous support from various parties. The SeCanting 2024 program will be carried out in two main stages, starting with a preventive stage including education for teenagers and prospective newlyweds, as well as Ultrasonography (USG) examinations for pregnant women. This will be followed by a curative stage involving direct assistance such as healthy food and vitamins for children affected by stunting, as well as monitoring the development of children and pregnant women to ensure the effectiveness of the aid provided. At the Kick Off event for SeCanting 2024 held at the South Jakarta Mayor's Office on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, attendees included the Mayor of South Jakarta, Dr. H. Munjirin S.Sos, M.Si; the Head of the Family Empowerment and Welfare Team (TP PKK) for South Jakarta, Esie Veransie Munjirin; the Assistant for Administration and Community Welfare (Kesra) of South Jakarta, Sayid Ali Zainal Abidin, S.H, M.Si along with his team; and Esther Sri Harjati, the Director of FIFGROUP, along with other management members. Esther expressed that through the SeCanting 2024 program, FIFGROUP aims to contribute more to reducing the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia. She believes that a strong collaboration between the government and the community can create a healthier and more sustainable future for the next generations. “We see that South Jakarta has surpassed the national prevalence target, currently at 1.18%. This is fantastic, and FIFGROUP wants to be part of the South Jakarta government's efforts to lower this number even further, setting an example for other regions,” Esther stated. While South Jakarta has successfully reduced stunting prevalence to 1.18%, other areas still need attention. In Pandeglang, the stunting rate is at 23.4%, in Maumere it’s 24.4%, and Surabaya and East Jakarta report 4.8% and 13.4%, respectively. This uneven distribution of stunting prevalence highlights the urgent need to expand efforts across all regions. Dr. H. Munjirin S.Sos, M.Si, the Mayor of South Jakarta, remarked, “We greatly appreciate FIFGROUP for their support through the SeCanting 2024 program. This initiative is a crucial step in our collective fight against stunting in Indonesia. I also encourage everyone to strengthen collaboration and actively support this initiative.”
