Retail Expansion Continues, ERAL Records 21.5% YoY Sales Growth

PT Sinar Eka Selaras, Tbk. (ticker code: ERAL) just dropped its financial report for the first half of 2024, and the numbers look great! They raked in a net sales figure of Rp2.12 trillion, which is a solid 21.5% increase compared to Rp1.74 trillion from the same period last year. While expanding their business, ERAL also reported a net profit of Rp90.1 billion attributed to the parent company, with a net profit margin of 4.3%. Here’s a quick snapshot of their financial and business performance:

- Net sales grew by 21.5% to Rp2.12 trillion.

- Gross profit margin stands at 13.3%.

- Net profit for the year attributed to the parent company is Rp90.1 billion, with a net profit margin of 4.3%.

- They opened 25 new stores in the first half of 2024.

- At the Annual General Meeting on June 12, 2024, the company declared a cash dividend of Rp51.87 billion, which is Rp10 per share, distributed on July 12, 2024.

Djohan Sutanto, the CEO of PT Sinar Eka Selaras, Tbk., expressed optimism, saying, “We believe that the positive trend in our business performance during the first half of 2024 will continue through the end of the year. Despite the macroeconomic uncertainties, we are still growing and expanding our retail network and business portfolio, all while carefully targeting the right consumer segments.” From January to June 2024, ERAL strengthened its business by expanding its retail network and launching new ventures to cater to the lifestyle needs of loyal customers. At the same time, they’re diversifying their business portfolio with smart categories like Urban Republic, active categories with ASICS, MST Golf, and Urban Adventure, as well as lifestyle brands like 6IXTY8IGHT and JD Sports.

ERAL continues to expand its retail network by adding 25 new outlets during Semester 1 of 2024, bringing the total number of outlets operated in Indonesia to 141. The number of outlets located outside of Java and Bali reaches 35, accounting for 25% of the total outlets.

The company has taken several initiatives to achieve optimal business growth, one of which is providing a more engaging experience for loyal customers through events held in conjunction with store expansions.

Examples include the opening of ASICS outlets in various areas such as Bandung, Pekanbaru, and Pontianak, accompanied by running and tennis sessions. Similarly, the opening of the MST Golf Premium store in Jakarta was also accompanied by a longest drive competition.

Another initiative is the demand generation program, as seen with Urban Republic celebrating its 8th anniversary by organizing a series of activities including games with attractive prizes for store visitors, shopping promotions, CSR activities, and community engagement. Urban Republic also participated in the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2024, offering attractive promotions to booth visitors.

ERAL always involves the community in various activities to build loyalty and gain valuable insights from direct users for business development. During Semester 1 of 2024, the company has organized 104 activities both offline and online with communities from various categories such as sports, gaming, photography, and content creation.

One of the recent activities was the URMazing Run 2024 with over 300 participants. The event provided an opportunity to build closeness with the community while introducing the best products from brands like ASICS, GARMIN, IT (Immersive Tech), and JD Sports.
