BRI Danareksa Sekuritas (BRIDS) has officially relocated and inaugurated its Medan branch office, now situated on the 8th floor of the Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Tower at Jl. Putri Hijau Dalam No. 2a, Medan, North Sumatra. This move aims to enhance the company's retail brokerage distribution network. The inauguration event was attended by representatives from PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (IDX: BBRI), including the Regional Office Leader and the Branch Leader for North Sumatra, along with officials from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in North Sumatra. During her speech, BRIDS' Director of Retail & Information Technology, Fifi Virgantria, shared that data from PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) as of June 2024 indicates that Sumatra ranks second in Indonesia for the highest number of investors, following Java (67.5%), with an investor distribution of 16.64%. "Given the promising demographics and investor growth in Sumatra, we believe that relocating our branch will strengthen our synergy with BRI, allow us to reach more investors with a more strategic office location, and further enhance our retail brokerage distribution network," Fifi explained. In addition to the branch relocation, BRIDS has been expanding its distribution network in North Sumatra and surrounding areas by collaborating with various prestigious universities and partnering with BRI to establish Investment Outlets, such as the Satya Terra Bhinneka University Outlet in Medan, the SLP BRI Pekanbaru Outlet, the Nias University Outlet, and the Sultan Agung School of Economics Outlet in Pematangsiantar. "The expansion of our distribution network not only aims to support the increase of capital market literacy and inclusion across Indonesia, as promoted by OJK and BEI, but also represents our company's efforts to achieve a significant target of reaching 1 million customers by 2026," Fifi concluded.
