Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi is pushing for continuous improvement in the quality of human resources in the transportation sector. He believes that skilled personnel are crucial for the success and advancement of transportation. He made these remarks during the opening of the Seminar and Talkshow "Harmonizing Transportation HR Development: Towards Outstanding Talent 2025," which was held by the Psychology Innovation Center at Padjadjaran University in Bandung on Thursday (October 3). "The success and progress of the transportation sector heavily rely on quality human resources who can design, maintain, operate, and explore transportation systems. Therefore, developing human resources is essential to cultivate top talent in Indonesia's transportation sector," the Minister stated. He emphasized that over the past decade, significant developments in the transportation sector have strengthened Indonesia's economic and social foundations. Major achievements include physical infrastructure development and digital transformation. Thus, current and future transportation personnel need to equip themselves to tackle digital transformations and the latest infrastructure advancements. "Transportation professionals must continuously upgrade their skills to adapt to the rapidly changing times. Self-development can be pursued through educational programs and training to create innovative and sustainable transportation systems," the Minister added. In line with this, the Vice Rector for Resources and Finance, Prof. Dr. Ida Nurlinda, highlighted the importance of producing quality graduates from higher education institutions in the transportation field. Quality here means not only mastering knowledge and technology but also possessing character and being able to make a tangible contribution to national development. Graduates play a crucial role as agents of transportation development, and they need ongoing support for human resource development. That's why collaboration among academics, practitioners, and stakeholders is super important to produce graduates who can tackle challenges effectively, said Ida.
