The Director General of National Export Development, Mardyana Listyowati, officially wrapped up the Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2025 on Saturday, October 12. This international modest fashion exhibition and runway show generated an impressive potential transaction value of USD 20.4 million, far exceeding the initial target of USD 3 million. “Thank goodness, JMFW 2025 has achieved a potential transaction value of USD 20.4 million. This was made possible through business matching activities that were part of the JMFW 2025 events. We’re grateful that this amount surpassed our previous target of USD 3 million. It shows that Indonesia's modest fashion industry has significant growth potential,” Mardyana stated. She also highlighted that JMFW 2025 showcased 239 local brands with over 1,000 fashion collections. The diverse designs, blending local wisdom with global trends, were a major draw for this year's event. Mardyana expressed her appreciation for the success of JMFW 2025. “The event has gone really well. We’re proud of the various activities that took place, including fashion shows, trade exhibitions, business matching, discussions, and textile design competitions. The Ministry of Trade continues to support the advancement of the modest fashion industry in Indonesia,” she added. JMFW 2025 took place alongside the 39th TEI from October 9 to 12, 2024, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) City, Tangerang, Banten. The event was themed “Mark Ink,” aiming to position Indonesia as a key player in the global modest fashion industry. Mardyana noted that the four-day JMFW 2025 attracted tens of thousands of visitors, including industry players, the public, and buyers from various countries. A total of 56 countries took part in exploring business deals, including Japan, Paris, the Netherlands, and more. This highlights the growing strength of Indonesia's modest fashion industry. The closing of JMFW 2025 was presented by Bank Indonesia (BI), reflecting the event's spirit of strengthening the ecosystem with relevant stakeholders. JMFW serves as a bridge to the upcoming Indonesia International Modest Fashion Festival (IN2MF), scheduled for October 30 to November 3, 2024, at the Jakarta Convention Center. During the event, Mardyana witnessed the signing of a joint statement between L'adresse Paris Agency and the Islamic Fashion Institute (IFI), along with eight local brands. These brands include Shiroshima Indonesia, Jenna and Kaia, Artkea, Party, Khasoe, Adia Lavani, Varyan, and Christin Wu. This joint statement was facilitated by the Trade Attaché in Paris. Additionally, Mardyana observed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and PT Kreasi Kriya Indonesia, which aims to boost the global recognition of Indonesia's modest fashion industry. The JMFW 2025 closing showcased proud Indonesian brands, including Irmasari Joedawinata X Rumah Kreatif Sekomandi from the West Sulawesi BI Representative Office, Qolbi from the Jambi BI Representative Office, and Fenny Saptalia from the DKI Jakarta BI Representative Office.
