To celebrate Youth Pledge Day, Sinar Mas Land is bringing back Green Camp 2024, an initiative aimed at raising environmental awareness among the younger generation. This event will take place on October 26-27, 2024, at Rimbun Conservation Village in South Tangerang, gathering students, university students, and environmental enthusiasts to collaborate and share knowledge on preserving nature. The camp will host around 150 students and 75 accompanying teachers from various schools in South Tangerang and Tangerang Regency. All participants will be appointed as Green Camp 2024 Ambassadors, leading the charge for youth engagement in environmental issues. Dony Martadisata, Managing Director of the President Office at Sinar Mas Land, stated, “Green Camp 2024 reflects our commitment to promoting a green and sustainable lifestyle. Inspired by the spirit of unity from the Youth Pledge, this event serves as a positive platform for young people to actively tackle environmental challenges and the climate crisis.” Sinar Mas Land believes that fostering a green lifestyle should start early and be consistently encouraged among the youth, so more individuals take real action for our planet. Green Camp 2024 will feature a variety of educational activities, including panel discussions, training sessions, and hands-on practices to emphasize the importance of ecosystem balance. Participants will engage in activities like a ceremony for Youth Pledge Day, tree planting, team-building exercises, waste management education, creating eco-enzymes, batik workshops, campfires, talent shows, and traditional dance flash mobs. Green Camp 2024 is an educational initiative aimed at students from schools supported by Sinar Mas Land's Corporate Social Responsibility program, especially those involved in the Sekolah Berhati initiative (which promotes green, healthy, and innovative character). The goal is to instill awareness, character, and a love for the environment, as well as a sense of nationalism and entrepreneurship from an early age. Sinar Mas Land is teaming up with various organizations, educational institutions, and environmental communities to drive home the message that taking care of our planet is a shared responsibility. This year, Green Camp 2024 is collaborating with the South Tangerang City Government, the South Tangerang Education Office, the South Tangerang Environment and Forestry Office, the South Tangerang Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Office, and the South Tangerang Ministry of Religious Affairs. This partnership aims to enhance the content and learning experience for participants, ensuring that the noble mission of shaping young people's characters and fostering a love for the environment is achieved more effectively.
