The Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) is optimistic about the continued growth of the two-wheeler market in the nation. As a result, they have adjusted their sales projections for the upcoming year. AISI Chairman Johannes Loman announced that the organization is targeting sales of at least 6.4 million motorcycles in 2025, representing a modest increase from this year's goal of 6.2 million units. "The anticipated demand for the next year is projected to be between 6.4 and 6.7 million units annually. We encourage industry stakeholders to innovate in order to deliver advanced, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly vehicles," Loman remarked during the inauguration of the IMOS 2024 exhibition in Tangerang on Wednesday (October 30). From January to September 2024, motorcycle sales in Indonesia totaled 4.87 million units, reflecting a 3.19 percent rise compared to the same timeframe last year. This indicates that manufacturers must sell an additional 1.33 million units in the remaining three months to achieve the 6.2 million target. "To support this goal, we organize the IMOS exhibition annually. This year, we have even expanded the venue and welcomed a greater number of participants," he noted. The expectation is that the IMOS exhibition will help revitalize motorcycle sales, which have experienced a downturn due to the pandemic, he concluded. The IMOS 2024 exhibition is currently being held at ICE BSD in Tangerang, running from today, Wednesday (October 30) through Sunday (November 3). A variety of motorcycle brands from Indonesia are showcasing their offerings, including Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, TVS, Royal Enfield, and Harley-Davidson. In addition, several electric motorcycle brands are participating, such as ALVA, Electrum, Horwin, Polytron, Volta, ION Mobility, V Move, among others. "We believe that the introduction of numerous new models will draw in visitors and contribute to the future development of the automotive industry," stated Loman.
